I have never been Thai Boxing before which class should I attend?

You should attend one of the beginner sessions. Please see the timetable page for more information.

All sessions are no contact which will teach you the basics of Thai Boxing and allow you to improve your fitness and lose weight. All the Beginner and Intermidiate classes are no contact and we have a range of safety equipment for you to use.

Is there contact in the Classes?

All the classes with the exception of the sparring and fighters class are no contact! The motto of the Gym is "Get Fit, Not Hit"

For people wishing to train in the fighters or sparring class you must speak to Ric before you can attend so he can fully assess your skills and fitness levels before you can attend.

What do I need to bring with me?

All you need to bring is either water or a sports drink. The Gym is fully matted so you will be training in bare feet but you should wear a T-shirt, loose shorts or jogging pants as all protective equipment such as shin guards and gloves are provided by the Gym.

What does an average lesson consist of?

A typical class will involve a variety of exercises that will help lose weight and improve fitness levels whilst teaching you the basics of Thai Boxing.

What are the training costs and do I need any equipment?

The first class is free but please see the prices page for the cost. You do not need to buy any equipment initially as we can provide it for youbut should you wish to buy equipment then it can be purchased from the Gym shop.

Do I need to bring a partner to train with?

No, just come on your own as there is always someone you can train with. The average class size is between 10-15 which allows the Instructors to spend time with you on a one to one basis.

Do I need to pre-book sessions?

No, just turn up at the session that is appropriate for you but if you are a beginner please attend the beginners session please see the timetable page for further information.

Is there membership?

Membership is required to train at the Gym for insurance reasons and it also allows you to be registered with the Muay Thai Governing bodies. It is £25 per year and must be bought after your sixth lesson.
